The New Mexico Acequia Association will host an acequia workshop in El Rito, NM on August 30th, 2011 at 5:30pm at the Rural Events Center. The workshop will include information about USDA programs and basic acequia governance topics including Acequia Commissioner responsibilities. The workshop will also feature a presentation by Dr. Sam Fernald from NMSU, "Connecting the Valley to the Watershed – Threats and Opportunities for Water Management".
