2025 Acequia Day at the NM Legislature
Tuesday, February 11, 2025
Gather with acequia leaders and supporters from across the state at the New Mexico State Legislature for our annual Acequia Day!
Join together as we show our unity as protectors of land, water, and culture. We will also meet with our legislators to advocate for funding for acequias and laws that protect the precious waters of our communities.
Bring your palas! Invite your families, youth, and neighbors!
Acequia Day Schedule - Updates will be made here as they become available
We will have a table outside of the NM State Capital on the southeast area with coffee, shareable handouts, buttons and information on the day. We will also have a table inside the Roundhouse in the exhibit area with more NMAA information. This is your opportunity to connect with your legislator and share your thoughts and priorities. We will be marching outside of the roundhouse. Bring your palas and energy. We will meet outside on the Southeast side of the roundhouse.
We will begin with Canción de Las Acequias. Join us for a presentation in the rotunda, located in the center of the main floor of the roundhouse. We will hear from NMAA, NMAC, legislators, musicians and poets in celebration of acequia culture.

NMAA will be hosting lunch at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 33 Early St, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Parking is free at this venue which is conveniently close to the NMAA office. Please register for Acequia Day so we can have an accurate count to help in planning for food.
Acequia celebration wouldn't be complete without Teatro and Música!
While we enjoy lunch and wind down from a day at the legislature enjoy live performance.
This will take place with lunch at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 33 Early St, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Parking is free at this venue which is conveniently close to the NMAA office.

Parking is free at this address which is conveniently close to the NMAA Office. NMAA will provide free transportation from 8:30am - 10:30am then again from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
Parking at El Sendero Inn

Parking passes are available for purchase for the full day at the front office for $10. These permits are first come first served.
Parking at Cathedral Basilica
Physical Address: 211-269 E Alameda St, Santa Fe, NM 87501
Full day parking pass is available for $15.
